The Royal Geographic Society Scotland is located in the Fair Maid’s House, the oldest secular building in Perth. Open from April to October, you can explore the RGSS distinguished history of supporting and promoting geographical education, research and exploration.
Local historic attractions include Huntingtower and Elcho Castles, as well as ancient hill forts, including Moncrieffe Hill, offering panoramic views stretching to Fife and the Lomond Hills. The wood surrounding the fort is home to red squirrel and its diverse habitats support a fascinating range of plant life. And with two Iron Age hill forts to explore, there’s plenty of historic interest.
